Low Glycemic Carbohydrates
Function: Select carbohydrates with low digestibility as the primary energy reserve during non-training periods.
Recommended staple foods: whole wheat bread, brown rice, white rice, pasta, buckwheat, oats, potatoes, egg noodles
Recommended fruits: grapes, grapefruit, assorted fruits, kiwi, apples, bananas, grapefruit, cherries
High glycemic carbohydrates
Function: Supplement fast-digesting carbohydrates before, during and after training to improve sports performance and synthesis rate.
Recommendation: Sports drinks, raisins, honey, banana
